We’re proud to be a Certified B Corporation. B Corps work to have a positive social and environmental impact (“B” is for benefit), and they meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance. There’s a snapshot of our rating here; the full score and all the details are in our B Impact Assessment report. In January 2012, we baked sustainability and accountability into our corporate structure by becoming one of California’s first legally recognized benefit corporations. Read why we’re a B.
We give back. Thinkshift is a member of 1% for the Planet, a global network whose member companies donate 1 percent of their revenue to environmental organizations. We can’t resist a good cause, so we also volunteer and take on pro bono projects. (Our community service policy provides more detail.)
We promote sustainable business. We’re active in building the B Corp movement and participate in sustainable business initiatives, including the California Business Alliance for a Clean Economy, and are a member of the American Sustainable Business Council. We support businesses that share our values, looking first to B Corps and local sustainable businesses as partners and vendors.
We practice what we preach. We continually ratchet down our resource use, ride public transportation and so on. We offset our unavoidable emissions through TerraPass, which funds carbon reduction initiatives verified by Climate Action Reserve and Verified Carbon Standard.
We’re a Certified B Corp because B Corps are the vanguard of a new approach to business, and B Corp is the only certification that considers the practices and products of the entire company.
