Thinkshift is a boutique marketing communications agency focused on sustainability and cleantech sectors. We started our business the classic way: over cocktails, on a napkin. And in everything we do, we maintain both the adventurous, “why the heck not?” spirit that animated our firm and the practical, hard-working ethos that built it.

We’re proud to be a Certified B Corporation. B Corps work to have a positive social and environmental impact (“B” is for benefit), and they meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance. In January 2012 we became one of California’s first legally recognized benefit corporations, so sustainability and accountability are baked into our corporate structure. And we work with several other sustainability-oriented organizations.

Ultimately, we hope to help create a more just, sustainable world. We take our clients’ success personally, because the better they do, the closer we come to achieving that vision.

Expertise: Our team combines broad communications and branding expertise with deep knowledge of sustainability fields. We began working in the cleantech sector before it was called “cleantech,” and we’ve helped businesses and nonprofits alike communicate successfully with policy makers, the public, partners and high-level buyers. We can work with your team—or be your team.

Sustainability: We try to practice what we preach. We try not to buy too much stuff. We encourage telecommuting. (Like jargon? We have a “distributed workforce.”) Public transportation and teleconferencing are our friends. We seek out fellow green businesses and B Corps to buy from and partner with.
